Buying kids digital cameras.

Are you wanting to buy  your child a digital camera for their birthday or Christmas?
Some manufactures have brought out some cool and funky kids digital cameras, but watch out as there are also some very poor quality ones on the market.

Below are some features to look for when choosing a digital camera for your child.

1. Child proof. The most important thing to consider is how tough and durable the camera will be. Your child will drop and throw the camera around many times.

2. Expandable Memory. Some kids digital cameras have enough built-in storage for hundreds of photos. However if the digital camera that you really like for you child doesn’t have much built-in storage, then make sure you can add a memory card. Most children’s cameras will use SD cards which are cheap to buy.

3. Flash. This will help your child with taking indoor shots. If the camera doesn’t have a flash than a lot of indoor pictures taken will be dark.

4. Megapixels. Picture resolution is normally between 0.3 and 1.3 megapixels, which means that the photographs will be of poor quality. However to a child this is more than enough for their creative talents.

5. Batteries. Children’s cameras normally take AA batteries, and you will find that they run down quite quickly. It’s a good idea to buy rechargeable batteries, as in the long run it will be cheaper.

6. Connectivity. Make sure the camera comes with a USB cable. This makes it very easy to transfer the photographs from the camera to a PC. Some kids digital cameras come with an AV cable, which allows the children to view their pictures on the big screen.

7. Added extras. Some digital cameras for kids come with the ability to record movies, have built-in games, and even photo editing software so that they can have fun with their pictures.
